Here is a short snippet from my short story:

The party is in full swing, but the closer the time comes for the sun to set, the more distant the mind of the host appears to be from that of his guests. His ears seem to lean towards the cemetery sitting adjacent to his back yard. Something calls to him, beckoning for him to come. The power is too strong for him to resist.
He slips away while his wife entertains the partygoers. She is not like him, and that is a good thing because it allows him to work his magic within the realm of the Dark. The night belongs to him. Not venturing too far back into the cemetery, the transformation begins. All human features change to those of a Busaw, a ghoulish demon native to the Philippines. His face takes on the persona of an ancient being, with a flattened nose, deep facial creases, pointed teeth, and a long tongue. When he was first transformed, the conversion caused him pain, but now he relishes every moment of it, watching as his entire body soon matches the features on his face. The deep fissures running down his arms to his hands serve to amplify the glory, in his mind at least, of the hooked nails forming from his fingertips. Soon, the nails on his feet complement those of his hands, and he climbs a tree to get a better vantage point of his surroundings.
