CHILLS - BY TERRI DELCAMPO

Terri DelCampo has some great holiday horror for your ooky palate. Chills has eight stories that will show you a different side of the holiday season. Terri has a charming way about her that will draw you in with mellow prose but will slap you alongside the head too. The one-two punch. Loverly.

So, my friends, once the kids have gone to sleep, slide Chills onto your Kindle, put a spiffy nightcap on, and read away. You'll be glad you did.

Santa F-bombs heard only by some.

From where in the forest should Christmas trees come?

Will Christians to Morningstar be lost?

Who'll win the bet, Vulcan or Frost?

Christmas Eve miracle for a small child.

South Pole festivities horribly wild.

Good kids onto naughty list drift.

Naughty boy tempts hungry gifts.

Classic holiday ditties these stories are not.

But if you want ooky, a sleighful I've got!

Witty holiday stories that are delightfully gruesome and chilling. A quick read that entertains start to finish. My favorite story takes Christmas trees to a new level of creative horror.

BLAZE MCROB WRITES ANOTHER NOVEL FOR NANOWRIMO

https://nanowrimo.org/

I just completed writing another novel for National Novel Writing Month. The goal is to write a novel of 50,000 words or more during the month of November. This year, I chose to write a fantasy novel, which is quite different from my usual horror writings. The title is The Golden Arch and I hammered out 133,110 words. Bear in mind that it needs a lot of editing before I publish it, so I'll be busy with that aspect of it for a while. Congratulations to all the winners this year and all the writers who even attempted to complete a novel.

Happy reading.

MISTS OF PAPOOSE POND - BY BLAZE MCROB

https://www.amazon.com/Mists-Papoose-Pond-Blaze-McRob-ebook/dp/B017DMCFHI/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=mists+of+papoose+pond&qid=1624146522&s=books&sr=1-1

Mists Of Papoose Pond is one of those weird tales that flits around in my mind, demanding to be told. And so, I allowed my story people to whisper in my ear, telling me which keys to punch, and what words to write. This is how I write. I hope you enjoy my styling method.

******

Where will it begin?

On a mountaintop?

At the bottom of the sea?

In a spaceship?

Or perhaps in a cabin by a pond enveloped by mysterious mists.

Mysterious mists that secrete forces of nature…

And good and evil.

******

Ed Hageman wants nothing more than to relax at Papoose Pond, but that's not to be. As the ultimate battle between good and evil shapes up around him, creatures are not what they seem. Many twists of fate, and many shocks await not only Ed and his companions, but those of you who read his story.

Prophets of yore were not all-seeing after all. Gods and devils are not how holy books described them.

Blaze McRob spins the tale.

Blaze McRob untangles the legend.

Blaze McRob finds the meaning in the Mists of Papoose Pond.

******

Here is the first chapter:

******

I can't sleep. My bedroom is stifling, even though it's usually cool in the early morning hours in this part of Maine.

"Shit!" I mutter to myself. "I might as well grab a smoke and go outside where it's cooler."

Slipping into my boxers, I grab my Camels and my lighter and hightail it outdoors where I do enjoy a little more refreshing air. I slide up to the railing of the porch and sit, watching the mists roll across the pond.

Pond: that's a misnomer for you. Nothing in Maine is the same as any place else. Anywhere else, this would be a lake. It's three miles long by a mile or more wide. In New Jersey where I come from, that's a damned lake. What difference does it make?  They call it Papoose Pond, so Papoose Pond it is.

My family has been coming up here for years. At least until my grandfather stopped bringing us. All at once, for no apparent reason, he decided he no longer wanted to spend a week in the rustic cabins in southwestern Maine. Being the tight-lipped German he was, no one was about to get any information out of him. Stubborn was his middle name.

What difference does it matter? My siblings and I have long since split apart, my parents and grandparents are dead, my wife is now my ex, and I just want some me time for a change. Fuck everyone else. This is the perfect place for it: the getaway; my retreat into relaxation before I throw my life back together.

My grandfather told the owners of the pond many years ago that they should fix things up a bit, modernize, get with the times. They did to a point but still manage to keep the rustic look and feel of the place. And the fishing? Still fantastic! Crappie and White Perch still hover around twenty inches long and have deep, thick bodies. As for the Bass fishing, just try plying a surface plug through the waters at night and see how far it goes before some Largemouth or Bronzeback plasters the living hell out of it.

I caught my share of fish hours ago, keeping only enough for some fish stew later in the day, but the sounds floating around, catching my ears, are not the ones associated with fish frolicking and chasing their smaller counterparts before closing in on them for the kill. These sounds are different. I have heard them before, even from my bed. This morning they are closer because I am outside.

The smoke from my Camel curls up into the air, dancing about, trying to mimic the mists rolling in from out on the pond. They're coming in from the north end where the lily pads sit thick at the edge of a deep water drop off. This is the best place on the pond to catch the giant White Perch and Crappies. It is adjacent to the Crooked River access, and springs are in abundance there.

Something else also resides there. I have always felt it, not knowing what it is, but feeling it play along my skin, teasing me, and creating goosebumps before vanishing into nothingness.

From something to nothing in a matter of minutes. Not one time but many. Could this be what caused my grandfather to stop coming here? Did the fear finally get to him? Maybe he found out what it was and wanted no part of it. I'll never know. Dead men don't talk.

Or do they?

What about the day we had a giant stringer of huge fish attached to the oarlocks of the rowboat? Somehow the stringer managed to come free from its attachments and the fish slowly sank towards the deepest part of the lily pad area. My grandfather had plenty of time to snag the stringer with the oar in his hand, but he froze, unable to move, and the stringer and the fish vanished from sight. I started to ask him why he made no effort, but I stopped, knowing the kind of answer I would get: or wouldn't get.

The mists come closer and closer to the cabin, and even though it sits some fifty yards from the pond's edge, the dancing droplets of condensation seemingly pirouette their way across the beach to where I'm sitting, first ankle high, then reaching mid-way up my chest. The cigarette smoke joins with the swirling fog and they cavort as one, creating a calming feeling massaging my unsettled mind.

Peaceful shapes dance all around me. I smile at ballerinas performing their amazing tiptoe jumps and landings, the mists opening and closing to accentuate their delicate, precise movements. I put my cigarette out, thinking I can go back to sleep, contentment putting me in the mood.

A sudden chill hits me before I can get to my feet. Bone-chilling cold, causing my hands to turn blue instantly. The ballerinas' faces vanish, replaced by monstrous, billowing towers of inhuman shapes.

Substance comes from the distortion of the mists! Flesh and bone hovering over me, smiling at me. No, not smiling - leering at me!

Brownish-yellow teeth, sharp and pointed, force their way into prominence when the creatures open their mouths, tongues lapping at miniscule lips, telling me where their next meal is coming from. Me! They want me!

I run to the door of the cabin, hoping to get inside and lock it behind me so they can't get inside. Sure, as if the door will pose a problem for these monsters!

A huge, scaly leg reaches out and trips me, sending me to the floor of the porch. Gigantic webbed hands reach out to me, the sharpened, elongated nails threatening to tear me apart. Water drips off these creatures combining with a slime from their powerful chests and finds its way into my eyes. I scream in pain as blindness overcomes me!

It's just as well. I don't want to see what's going to happen next. Let it be over! Let it be over!

The pressure of the air coming down on me, forced by the behemoths' closeness, intensifies. They are almost on me!

******

This novel is loaded with horror, non-stop action, and monsters. Lots of monsters.

Happy reading!

RED SURF - BY BLAZE MCROB

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MYDZWBP/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_bibl_vppi_i44

Red Surf, a short story by Blaze McRob, is a tale of revenge, triggered by incidents which could have, in real life, led to tragic results for many people. The book description sets it up nicely.

Once known for romance,

This place turns into a bloody dance;

In the tempo of disease

On an island no one leaves.

******

To add even more of a reason to check out my tale, I have included a short teaser below.

******

There is just a sliver of a moon tonight, barely enough to show the surf for what it is. Others like me stare out into the gently rippling waters, the hunger in our bellies driving us mad from the ravenous urge to seek out more prey. But one cannot eat what is not there.

Maybe . . .  just maybe if I wade out into the red surf one more time there will be a morsel overlooked from before.

Others beat me to it, but it is all for naught. The blood-stained waters are barren. We saw to that earlier. Santa Catalina. The old song beats a wild staccato in my head. No, this is no longer an island of romance. Leave me alone, damn it!

But it doesn't leave me alone. Over and over again the words assault me. How can there be romance without people? There can't. This is insanity. Everything is insanity now. 4,000 residents of this island are either now dead or like me. Maybe I'd be better off dead.

The old clay and metal pipes which wore away long ago allowed human sewage to flow into the city's ground water and eventually into Avalon Bay. Over the years the bacteria deposits grew and gained entry into the bodies of those tending the beaches. Day after day we were assaulted without even knowing it.

The fecal bacteria inside my body tear at me, changing me more and more from what once was a human to whatever it is I am now. Chunks of flesh have fallen away from me, leaving boils and pockets of pus. My hair is rapidly becoming a thing of the past, joining with my departed flesh as it becomes litter on the beach, further desecrating it.

Scary to read

******

Here's a short sample to whet your horror thirst:

The small circus has traveled pretty much the same route for years. Sure, there have been a few occasions where extreme weather or wars have caused some fluctuations, but the little farming communities in the far-flung sections of this part of western New Jersey look forward to the big top with all the excitement of the high-wire acts, the animal taming with lions and tigers looking as if they might maul their handlers at any time, and the balancing acts done by agile men and women on barrels and other assorted objects seemingly much more suited to other uses.

Yet, the mainstay of the circus, the clowns, are often overlooked. Sure, there are those who laugh at their antics, appreciating the dexterity they possess to perform the nimble moves needed to make it appear their falls, slaps, and other hilarious hijinks are real and not contrived, but, for the most part, there is a ho-hum attitude about them, and the children often times are afraid of the brightly made up faces of these entertainers and scream whenever one comes close.

Jangles is the clown who has been with the Davis Bros. Circus the longest; exactly how long no one can really remember. It seems as if he has always been a part of the show. He is not happy with the lack of respect given to him and his peers, but he chooses not to engage in the dressing room conversations when his friends discuss the possibility that maybe, just maybe, the clown as an entertainer is going the way of the dodo bird.

Nonsense, he figures. Without clowns, there would be no circuses. If circuses themselves vanish from the scene, then maybe what they say is true, yet, that won't happen.

Never will that happen, he thinks. Never.

The evening air is hot and humid tonight, typical for late June, and there is no movement in it at all. The other clowns are uncomfortable in their costumes and heavy make-up, just waiting for the show to be over so they can strip down and cool themselves off, but the heat doesn't bother Jangles. Bring it on, he thinks. I can handle it.

When the show is over, everyone in the circus rushes to cool off as the crowds return home, back to their mediocre existences. Jangles leaves his makeup and costume on and watches the guests leave, taking note of which direction they are going and keeping a close eye on those who leave alone.

Yes, the people who came here on their own are the ones who interest Jangles the most. A private show for them would be most fitting. He will not let them down.

A young lady, not in any hurry to leave, takes in all the majesty the Big Top has to offer. Now that it is empty, there is a special added charm: the flickering lights catch all the corners, creating shadows of mystery and allure. From out of one of the corners, Jangles steps forth, his bright red mouth and white face talking to her without the benefit of words.

They move towards each other, deliberately, but not pushing the timing any. The moment is special. It cannot be rushed.

The clown stares into her eyes before moving to her throat, where he gently places his lips, first planting a sweet kiss upon her, and then releasing the fangs within his mouth to dig into her carotid. He draws long and hard on the bright red sustenance flowing from her neck, which to him is as mead presented from the Gods.

******

Here is a short snippet from chapter one to show you I waste no time in getting to some action.

******

Time was running out.

Charlie stared at the clouds building in the west. Once more the forces of nature were about to unleash their fury on the residents of Cheyenne. Since the early days of this infernal devastation of the planet, this city had appeared safe. Six thousand feet high, far removed from the coastal flooding which had obliterated entire cities from the face of the earth, the ravaging tempests of the oceans would not affect life here.

Not so.

Cause and effect. It was happening again.

The skies turned almost black, even though it was early afternoon. Lightning struck the surrounding prairies, leaving beautiful, but garish, displays of the power within the clouds. Thunder boomed, rattling buildings. This was no ordinary thunder: it resonated with a fervor of vengeance, shouting to all who would listen that the skies were king. Humans were frail beings, unable to withstand the onslaught of destruction, and the devastation was seconds away.

Twin tornadoes came in on the city, throwing cars into buildings, any unfortunate souls trapped inside screaming as their vehicles became airborne. Some of the fortunate ones were able to holler out after a violent impact. Others were not so fortunate. Only silence surrounded them.

That Bobbie Kid, by Blaze McRob, is up on Amazon for your reading pleasure. This is a short story which is actually four short stories wrapped into one. The book cover, skillfully done by Terri DelCampo, explains the premise of the book: an evil kid up to mischief. But be forewarned that Bobbie is no normal kid. Bobbie's mischief involves mayhem, gore, death, and more. There is great power at work, a force that Bobbie can't understand, not at first, anyway.

Are you intrigued yet? I hope you are. This is one of my most evil tales yet.

Revenge comes in many forms.

That Bobbie kid, he's the one, who knows revenge, is oh, so fun!

Happy reading!

PARLIAMENT - BY TERRI DELCAMPO

https://books2read.com/u/38EAlr

Amazon.com: Parliament eBook : DelCampo, Terri: Books

Terri DelCampo has brought many tales written by her to Blazing Owl Press. I'm sure readers have noticed we have many books  here. Most of these are Terri's. I might catch up in time, but, for now, she is the champ. Parliament is one of those books, a frightening novel blending non-fiction with fiction. Sometimes that happens. This story is one of those. There is legend; there is lore; there is horror.

This is one of Terri's best works.

Enjoy.

Here's a short teaser for this book:

There was once a wealthy man who lost his wife and remarried in haste. His second wife was a shrew, so proud and haughty that within a short time he realized his mistake, but the deed was done. Worse than that, she brought into his fine house two daughters who were just like her.

Ah, but his own daughter, a lovely lass, as beautiful on the inside as the outside, was made to feel inferior by the stepmother and her two beautiful but persnickety daughters. The new mistress of the mansion saw fit to have her do all the work that a scullery maid would normally do, while her daughters had not to lift a finger to help around the house. They gave her the name Cinderella because when her work was done, she had to sit amongst the ashes.

But Cinderella did not tell her father what was happening because she realized he was being controlled by his domineering wife and did not wish to cause him any more hardship.

And it came to be that the King’s son gave a series of balls to which the finest in the kingdom would come. There was a longing in his heart to find a proper woman that he might come to love, for even though royal blood flowed through his veins, he was lonely and desperately wanted a love to call his own.

So, it was that her stepsisters should be invited to the biggest ball of all and had Cinderella, who was a Master of Fine taste, assist them in preparing their clothes and hair for the grand event. Even though the two bickered amongst themselves constantly, Cinderella managed to bedeck them in the finest clothing and coiffures imaginable, and they soon left in their carriage, but not before teasing their step-sister that she was not going to the ball.

The pain of doing everything in her power to make her step-sisters look so grand while she had to remain home in her dusty enclave caused her to break down and cry as she was sitting on the edge of the hearth.

“And what might be wrong, my sweet lass?”

Cinderella stared into the face of a short, disheveled woman with raggedy wings. Her face was covered with boils and peeling flesh. Truth be told, she appeared to be on death’s door, but in spite of it all, her disposition was cheery.

“And who . . . and who might you be?” Cinderella asked, shocked at the very presence of this woman.

The woman laughed. “Why, I am your Fairy Godmother.”

“But you look almost like you are dead.”

“Ah, my dear, I am dead, but I am not dead.”

BLOODY BEACHES OF CHEYENNE - BY BLAZE MCROB

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08843RTXT/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_bibl_vppi_i25

BLAZING OWL SHORT HORROR BY BLAZE MCROB offers lots of chills packed in a few pages that will sweep you into his bizarre and macabre world whenever you have a few minutes to read.

Bloody Beaches of Cheyenne, by Blaze McRob, is a Vampire/rodeo clown short story that I believe you'll find most interesting. Here are the opening two paragraphs.

******

A warm breeze blows across the rodeo grounds, bringing the coppery taste of what I need to sustain myself to my tongue. Just a little longer and it will be dark. That will be my cue to spring into action.

The crowd is entering the stadium. This is PBR night, Professional Bull Riding, and the place is sold out. My little trailer contains everything I need to conceal myself during the day. My coffin is built to blend into the general shabby décor of a rodeo clown and appears to be nothing more than a long storage space on which my mattress and pillow sit. Of course, I have no use for the seeming resting place on top, but if anyone enters while I’m asleep, there is no way they would think to remove the mattress to see what’s under it.

******

Cheyenne, Wyoming loves their rodeo. However, not all rodeo clowns are created equal, are they?

TERRI'S BOOKSHELF: INTRIGUING AUTHORS I READ IN 2015 - BY TERRI DELCAMPO

 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08R71DFT7/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_bibl_vppi_i28

Terri's Bookshelf: Intriguing Authors I Read In 2015, by Terri DelCampo, is an interesting book based on some of the noteworthy authors who Terri loves to read. I have read books by most of these authors, and I must agree with Terri that their books are the stuff real literature is made of. The ones I haven't read? Let's just say I'll have to change that and seek them out. I always love finding new authors.

From Terri:

******

2015 was a whirlwind year, as a writer and editor for me, it was also the year I experimented with a column in Owl's Eye View Magazine called "Terri's Bookshelf". While I discontinued the column in favor of keeping OEV strictly dark fiction, I wanted to publish the articles about the books, along with the corresponding interview questions for the authors, all of whom I still currently read. Interview questions answered by: Paul A. Bussard, Jeremiah Coe, CL Hernandez, Cara Marsi, Blaze McRob, Stephen Nepa, Shari Nichols, Dr. Terry Segal, George Weinstein, Jay Wilburn.

******

These authors embrace many genres and sub-genres. Romance, science fiction, horror, war, energy medicine, non-fiction, and more. Along with many links to their books, Terri has a most interesting set of questions she asks the authors. This in itself is worth the purchase price of the book. Such diversity!

Terri also includes a special piece direct from the World Horror Convention in 2015. I was with her as we hob-knobbed with all the great people there.

You will most certainly enjoy this peek into the minds and lives of  outstanding authors!

A short teaser to whet your appetite for more:

******

The fire takes the chill out of the cabin. Even though it's early fall, the air has quite a nip to it. I hadn't planned on being here at all: sometimes things happen.

There are plenty of logs stacked by the fireplace. As isolated as this place is, there are no power lines anywhere. Fire for heat, and candles for any extra light if I should need it. That's about it.

I should be in the city right now, enjoying the fame of my new novel. Yeah, that's what I should be doing. Instead, I'm holed up in the mountains, away from everyone, in a one-room cabin with just the bare necessities. It's a nice cabin, knotty pine paneling adorning all the interior walls, the light texture of the wood capturing the dancing flames, shadows moving in and out of every nook and cranny, the corners displaying the more unique of the patterns. This is supposed to calm me, to take away the anxiety, putting my mind at ease.

I've been fucked over. To the max. For more years than I can remember, I've been a ghostwriter, one of those guys that no one knew even existed until just a little while ago. I had my reasons. And, if truth be told, I did pretty damned well. We split the money, the author under whose name I wrote benefited when he couldn't meet a deadline because good old Bob would have one ready for him. And, of course, more novels were sold in his name than would have ever been sold under mine. A win/win for both of us.

But now, I want to change all of that. This time, I have written my finest work and I plan to have it come out under my name.

Yes, that's the plan, but it's not going to happen. My bastard of an agent knew the novel for what it truly is and sold the rights to the highest bidder. No one knows who I am! Shit, I don't have a leg to stand on!

All the reviews say this is the ultimate horror novel: the perfect combination of horror with just the right amount of gore added in. I agree. Only now, it won't go out in my name.

What more can I do other than stew over it, pushing myself into a state of depression unlike any I have ever had before. This was to be my crowning achievement. Now it's my saddest hour.

Even PTSD can't compare to this. The memories of all that happened in 'Nam weighing on my mind; the same dreams spinning in my head night after night, always having the same endings, never coming to a happy conclusion: always death; cold, hard calculated death. I've been taking medication for this, seeing the shrinks; all the stuff they've wanted me to do I've done. For what? So my mind can be completely snowballed under by treachery.

Jack Slade. One great author: fantastic resume; 38 novels to his credit. I'm more Slade than he is. I've written 29 of those books. And here he is, waltzing around, waving my book in his hand, espousing this to be THE definitive work. Jack Slade, the modern-day Poe they're calling him. Poe, my ass!

Up here, I don't have to listen to the newscasts, look at the book reviews, or see my books on the shelves. My publisher says we have to go along with all this hype to make this the success it can be. Money. Filthy lucre. Sure, I'm making money on this, but the novel could stand on its own. There is no hype needed.

Night becomes day. The fire still roars. It should; I've been up all night tending to it. Sleep: like I could have slept with this festering in my brain. Maybe this wasn't such a good idea after all. Perhaps I should have stayed in the city. I don't know. Confusion is eating away at me. Is this the way it's always going to be? Will I never be accepted as Robert Schantz, horror writer supreme? Am I to constantly toil in the foxhole of behind-the-scenes shenanigans?

If I were to go with a different publishing house, how would I explain my past writing? Contractual obligations; I can't fucking discuss any of this. Sure, I have the contracts in my possession. But by displaying them, I would void them. Shit! They might make me pay the money back.

I put some more logs on the fire and go out for a walk to clear my head. Maybe a plan will pop into my head. Something. Anything.

The cool air is perfect for thinking; the gray matter just sizzles. Yes, as ludicrous as things are playing out in my head, I think I can make this work. It has to be done just right. But, yeah...

I almost run back to the cabin and pack. I have to get to the city fast before everything goes crazy. Before it's too late.

******

Happy reading!

Terri DelCampo has compiled quite a collection of horror poetry to sate your poetic horror appetites. Broken Old Broad Busts A Beat: HO - PO ( Horror Poems ), produces in spades. Even the cover art tells a story. I like to think of it as a reflective skeleton. Is that possible? Why not? Terri's poems sure make one think. Rather than go on and on about each and every poem and steal from the ambience that Terri has created, I will merely state that my favorite poem in this collection is Songs From The Hanging Tree. Read it and you'll see why.

BLAZE MCROB'S PATREON PAGE

https://www.patreon.com/Blaze_McRob

Below are some posts I have on my Patreon page.

******

If you love horror, I believe you’ll love this. It’s my only tier and will be loaded with short stories and serialized novels. As a patron, you’ll be able to access every tale of horror that I post on Patreon. I will be adding a mix of at least thirty unique stories and novel chapters each month. It promises to be a wild ride.

Thank you for your support. I am grateful for your patronage.

About Blaze McRob

I’m a rather diverse writer. Some of my fans refer to me as being the King of Revenge Horror. Others know me for my action stories. Both are right. Add in many other strange quirks and traits and you’ll find a writer who is not bound by any constraints. Horror has always been my first love. At the age of nine, I had already consumed everything written by the great Edgar Allan Poe. So naturally, I will fill my Patreon page with many short stories of the dark, serial fiction novels, flash fiction, Father Blaze Nursery Rhymes, zombie fairy tales, horror poetry, science fiction, and more. There will be untold hours of escapism found in my tales of horror.

There will be no non-fiction on my page. I would be just another voice crying out in the wilderness. I want none of that. I will deal with whatever issues attack my gray matter the way I know best: using my story people to handle the evil running around on this spinning rock of ours from deep within my soul. My system. It works for me.

Every month, I will have at least a mix of thirty stories, novel chapters, or my other fiction. Everything I post here will not be available to read anywhere else. This place is for my loyal fans and patrons. All this for only $3.00 a month.

All my writings will remain exclusive to Patreon for at least three months after their posting. After that time period, I will make them available for sale elsewhere. However, I will not remove any of my tales from Patreon. My Patrons will still be able to read everything here. And, believe me, that's a lot of reading.

Thank you for your time. I hope to have many of you as Patrons.

******

As you can see, I removed the confusion factor and only have one tier. For $3.00 a month, you can read everything I post here. It all stays here. That gives you plenty of time to read everything I post. As of the moment, I have 504 writings on my page. I've only been on Patreon since October 1st of 2020. I have a lot more to add.

For novel lovers, I have already published eight novels, one chapter at a time:

Wolf Whispers

Ghost No More

Destiny Changed

Mists Of Papoose Pond

Last Chance

Again, Damn It!

Quarter Moon Haunts

'68 Buick

I am currently working on four other novels:

Again, Damn It! : Book Two

Quarter Moon Haunts: Book Two

Enchanted Gateway

The Fatal Shot

All this is in addition to many short stories.

I honestly believe you'll get your money's worth and more.

Reflection is a super horror novel by Terri DelCampo. Terri has a knack of writing a story in such a manner that you feel you are in a room with her as she is telling you her tale. Authors and storytellers are not one and the same. However, in Terri's case, she pulls it off in a most admirable way.

I have often said that the best way to discover if you enjoy an author's style is to read the free sample they provide on Amazon. Terri has provided a lengthy one for Reflection. This is your chance to discover a new favorite author.

HOLY TERRORS - BY TERRI DELCAMPO

https://books2read.com/u/m2rn9r

Terri DelCampo does not like rapist priests, so when she writes a novel about them you should expect some nastiness. Holy Terrors is her vehicle of retribution for those who have suffered at the hands at the vermin parading as holy men. She holds nothing back. Neither does her little community of Owl's Nest, Delaware. Read. Learn. And fear.

GILAS SUPREME - BY BLAZE MCROB

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B084XVVLGQ/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_bibl_vppi_i35

Gilas Supreme, by Blaze McRob, is a tale of Mother Nature unleashing monsters on New Mexico and Texas. How far does she go with her revenge? Read the teaser I have below. and hopefully it will draw you into wondering what lies inside my twisted mind. After all, something like this couldn't really happen. Or could it?

******

The hot desert air barely moves, magnifying the intensity of what mother nature has decided will be the hottest summer on record. How many days of 110-degree heat in a row now? Thirty-four and counting. There has been no rain for many months, and this extreme temperature is set to cause fires over many thousands of acres if even only a single spark is ignited.

Shit! The brush has the consistency of tumble weeds, ones which haven’t seen a drop of water in a year. Flames would spread so fast here a person wouldn’t be able to drive away fast enough to escape them.

I shake my head. What the fuck am I doing here? My life is on the line, and for what? A job? My damned job might be history by the end of the year anyway. Budget cuts are playing nasty with people in my profession. Biologists are finding it difficult to gain any kind of job security anymore. Congress figures we’re an automatic budget cut item. They don’t give a damn what happens to the endangered species out here. Oil is what drives them. “Drill, baby, drill” is what is on the minds of these fat-cat politicians.

No sense in worrying about that now. I still have a job, and I’m getting paid to do it, so I will. Many native species have vanished from this area almost overnight. Owls, rabbits, deer, and more are almost gone. Even the damned snakes have dwindled in numbers. And the evening skies are so quiet one would think there is nothing out here at all other than an aging biologist trying to piece together the parts of the huge puzzle.
