NIGHT OPS, by Terri DelCampo is a total mind-fuck of a story. It is pure psychological horror the whole way. This is definitely one of my favorite stories that she has written. She holds nothing back. Just remember: some people are not to be trifled with. There will be consequences.

Damn the dark! The power’s out again. I can’t see a thing. Wait. I have a pair of night goggles I’ve been playing around with sitting on the table next to the bed.

I put them on and am amazed at how well they work. Too bad I didn’t have these when I was in ‘Nam. Night blindness might be a much lesser curse than a lot of other things, but when you’re in the midst of battle it sure is nice to be able to see your enemy.

The night goggles are one of many new toys my wife and I have been experimenting with. Even though the middle of the road candidate won the election this year, I know hot beds of fascism will rear their ugly heads. Shit, we’re already living in a police state. Why people deny it makes no sense to me. Liberty after liberty is vanishing in the country. Terri - my wife - and I are ready for it. We have weapons, shooting range expertise, and more to combat it if it comes. Yes, we’re only two people, but, if the shit hits the fan, we will be prepared. At the worst, we won’t go out without a battle.
