Lisamarie Lamb is my Woman In Horror today! Just take a peek at all the great books she has written as a stand alone author or as an author within anthologies at her Amazon Author Page. https://www.amazon.com/Lisamarie-Lamb/e/B004ZK1MXU/ref=sr_tc_2_0?qid=1423191720&sr=1-2-ent Boggles the mind, and yet there are more great books on the way. Wow!

I was debating whether to put up a different picture of Lisamarie than the one on her Amazon page because that one doesn't show her face like the ones on her blog and Facebook pages do. But you can see her face in those other places. I think her Amazon photo shows her as a writer, doing her mastery on the keyboards. Good choice, Lisamarie!

I first got to know Lisamarie when Angelic Knight Press was doing our Satan's Toybox series. She is one of only a few authors who has stories in all three of the anthologies. That is quite an accomplishment considering the fine authors with tales in those tomes.

You will notice that Lisamarie is published with many different publishers. This says a lot for her skills at the craft. Having read many of her stories, I know why. She writes so well! It's that simple. She combines her horror with a reflective posturing, allowing the reader to be drawn in subtly, and then wham! The trap has been set and the reader cannot escape the majesty of her words. And I love her English styling and charm.

I firmly believe that good authors can write in any genre. Lisamarie takes this a step further and has a special website http://www.lisamarielamb.co.uk/?fbclid=IwAR3PoK2kjy2yMbenawPqA_mivjVZYb4zRqxkYfrkR6moeqQnD5BCPFIwsok for freelance writing where she has set rates and advertises she will write anything. That takes in a lot of territory. I am really impressed.

About Lisamarie Lamb

I'm a writer... At least, I write...

I was five when I wrote my first short story - it involved a car going over a cliff, Jessica Fletcher and the Phantom Raspberry Blower. It didn't have much of a plot (he did it, she solved it) but it did have rather colourful (crayon) illustrations and it did make me realise that writing was for me.

At 12 I wrote my first novel during the school summer holidays. Loosely based on the Famous Five, with a bit of James Bond thrown in, it was an adventure story and my teacher made me read some of it out in class. And that's when I realised that I wanted people to hear my stories and read my work.

Over the intervening years, I have written various short stories, plays, poems and novels in different genres, including romance and children's books.

4.0 out of 5 stars An Interesting and Impressively Creative Collection of Stories

The best thing about this collection is the sheer creativity of the stories. I really enjoyed the variety of stories presented and the authors' imaginations really spoke to my own imagination (as a fan of Sci Fi.)

Like any collection the stories do vary, but even the least interesting are 3 or 3.5 star reads while the best are 4 or 4.5 star level (which is why I have awarded 4 stars overall.) I will mention that I found the order of the stories to be less than ideal, in that some of my favorites were slotted earlier in the collection that I would have liked and some of the later stories were among the weaker in my opinion.

Overall and excellent creative collection of stories, highly recommended for fans of sci-fi.

Who's that trip trapping over my bridge? It's the echo of a childhood bedtime story read on a mother's knee, but this story is definitely not for children. Eliza is excited when she gets her first assignment as a newspaper journalist, even if it does mean she has to travel to the back of beyond to get the story. But with a slew of missing persons and some weird weather warnings, there is definitely something going on in the little village of Bailby. The villagers stick together, and local policeman, Fraser, is Eliza's only ally. As they grow closer, something else is ripping the village apart - and it's coming to gobble them up.

The start of this is a quick, strong, crazy blow to the mind. You just have no idea what the hell just happened. Then you read the story of the main character. It goes through telling her story of fleeing an abusive relationship out of self preservation. Her partner alone is the kind of horror that is all too real for most. Then twists start hitting, left and right, and a real life fear builds in you for the Main character.  I definitely recommend this book to anyone.

I got the chance to read this book as part of a special promotional event. One of the things that I enjoy most about anthologies is how the different voices of the writers come through in each segment. This book is no exception. I won't lie, some of the stories I loved, and some of them weren't my cup of tea (like in any anthology), but the whole compilation kept my attention and made me want to keep reading. My favorite story was actually the first one, "Fashionably Late" because it was closest to the literary style that I enjoy reading. The cover artwork is amazing. Don't worry, there is definitely something for everyone in this anthology. Vivid imagery, well imagined plots, and an all around spooky time.
